A SYMBOL OF LOVE FOR THE CRESCENT AND STAR IN THE SKIES OF İZBAŞ

İzmir Free Zone (İZBAŞ) marked the 89th anniversary of the adoption of the Turkish Flag Law by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on May 29 with a visionary initiative.

On this meaningful day, a 50-meter-high flagpole erected within the Free Zone area was proudly crowned with the crescent and star of the Turkish flag, now waving high in the sky. Beside it, another 40-meter-high pole carries the İZBAŞ flag, symbolizing the organization's identity.

H. Gürsel Bahçıvancılar, General Manager of İzmir Free Zone Founder and Operator Inc. (İZBAŞ), emphasized that the Turkish flag has now taken a permanent and symbolic place in both the corporate memory and the physical landscape of İZBAŞ.

VISIBLE FROM KILOMETERS AWAY

Reminding that the Turkish flag is the most significant symbol of unity and identity for the Turkish nation, Bahçıvancılar stated:

“At İZBAŞ, we place great value not only on economic development but also on preserving and honoring our national values. Our flag, the strongest emblem of our nation’s struggle for independence, represents our deep-rooted devotion to our homeland, our shared history, and our belief in the future. With this in mind, our new 50-meter-high flagpole, positioned at the border of our site, is more than just a structure—it is an unshakable symbol of our commitment to the revolutions of the Republic and the principles of Atatürk. Seeing our flag—our greatest symbol of unity—visible from kilometers away fills us with even greater determination to work in a way worthy of the founders of our Republic.”

The flagpoles, positioned at the boundary of İZBAŞ facing Seyrek Neighborhood, are illuminated with LED lighting at night.
