Application Procedure

  • Free Zone Activity License Application Form shall be obtained from the Ministry of Economics website and filled.
  • Application fee of 5,000 USD shall be deposited to Free Zones Private Account of Republic of Turkey Central Bank with a petition.
  • Activity License Application Formand its appendices will be sent to İzmir Free Zone Directorship and Republic of Turkey Ministry of Economics Directorate General of Free Zones, Overseas Investments and Services after checked by IZBAŞ.


APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF AN ESTABLISHED COMPANY

Filled out Application Form and documents requested on the 1st page of the form (Trade Registry Journal- including Company establishment and final capital structure-, circular of signature, profit/loss balance sheets for the last three years, documents indicating the amount of foreign exchange brought into Turkey- if any, GTIP numbers of goods that will be brought and sold in the Zone, manufacturing flow chart or manufacturing companies and company description) will be submitted to İzmir Free Zone Directorship to be sent to Republic of Turkey Ministry of Economics Directorate General of Free Zones, Overseas Investments and Services.

 

"Letter of Conformity" is obtained from Republic of Turkey Ministry of Economics Directorate General of Free Zones, Overseas Investments and Services after their evaluation of the application. If the company prefers to transfer its established company headquarters to Izmir Free Zone, the company shall make the necessary address change in the articles of association after obtaining the "Letter of Conformity".

 

APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF A NEW COMPANY

Company description including the activity field of the company and its activities in the zone, manufacturing flow chart for manufacturing companies, GTIP numbers of goods that will be brought and sold in the Zone, receipt of Central Bank for 5,000 USD, draft of articles of association and statements of signatures of company partners are attached to the Application Form. All are submitted to the İzmir Free one Directorship to be sent to

Republic of Turkey Ministry of Economics Directorate General of Free Zones, Overseas Investments and Services.

After the "Letter of Conformity" is obtained from the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Economics Directorate General of Free Zones, Overseas Investments and Services, application for Company registration will be made to Menemen Trade Registry Office.

 

  • The Company shall apply to İZBAŞ with the Trade Registry Journal (or a note indicating its issue) within30 days after receiving the "Letter of Conformity" for location leasing or purchasing processes.
  • Leasing Contract or Notary approved title deed will be submitted to Republic of Turkey Ministry of Economics Directorate General of Free Zones, Overseas Investments and Services after the approval of İzmir Free Zone Directorship for the issuing of Activity License.
  • After the license is issued, books and ledgers under the Tax Procedural Law will be obtained and approved by the Notary Public, and then the Tax Office is notified. Invoices Audited by The Treasury will be printed.
  • Free Zone inventory book will be printed and submitted to İzmir Free Zone Directorship and İzmir Free Zone Customs Directorship for approval. Goods ingoing and outgoing to Free Zone are recorded into this book by date.
  • Company will apply to İzmir Free Zone Directorship to obtain "Free Zone Entrance Card" for their personnel.
  • "Transire Stamp" is obtained from İZBAŞ for company cars to enter into the Free Zone.

 

FOR OVERSEAS REAL OR LEGAL ENTITIES TO ESTABLISH A COMPANY IN TURKEY OR FREE ZONE

  • Overseas legal entities:
    • Certificate indicating progress of activity
    • Activity Report of the previous year (including balance sheet and field of activity)
    • Consulate approved documents with the signature of the authorized person indicating its authority
  • Overseas real entities: Photocopy of the passport
  • Draft of articles of association of the company to be established
  • Interim invoices, manuals and catalogs of machinery and equipment, duties and fees for imported goods and equipment and FOB (currency of the country), FOB (USD), CIF (TRY), Customs taxes, etc.
  • Letter of proxy of shareholders given to the contact person during application (letter of proxy should be notary approved)
  • Other documents deemed important
