JOİNT PROMOTİON STRATEGY FOR 19 FREE ZONES

The “Free Zones Promotion Workshop,” organized to develop a joint promotion strategy for Türkiye’s 19 free zones, strengthen inter-institutional cooperation and determine common messages for investors, was held at MW Phokaia Resort in Foça and hosted by İZBAŞ İzmir Free Zone Founder and Operator Inc.

At the workshop, attended by Mehtap Arık, Head of the Evaluation, Implementation and Promotion Department at the Directorate General of Free Zones of the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Trade; Zahid Tuncel, Unit Manager at the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye Investment and Finance Office; Yusuf Kılınç, Chairman of the Free Zone Founders and Operators Association (SEBKİDER); representatives of public institutions; and representatives of SEBKİDER-member founder and operator companies, working groups were formed around two separate themes focusing on joint promotion.

The topics that emerged from the brainstorming sessions held by the working groups throughout the day were compiled into presentations by the group spokespersons at the end of the workshop and formally documented.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, moderated by Prof. Dr. Aykan Candemir of Ege University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, İZBAŞ General Manager H. Gürsel Bahçıvancılar said, “As cooperation among our institutions, companies and public authorities grows stronger, we believe our free zones will move far beyond their current trade volumes and reveal their true potential. Together with our guests from different regions of our country, we held a highly productive workshop in terms of promoting our free zones to investors and developing their capacity for international activities.”
