IZBAŞ READY FOR FOUR MAJOR INAUGURATIONS AND ONE GROUNDBREAKING!

Located among İzmir’s leading industrial zones in high value-added production and exports, İzmir Free Zone is counting down the days for four major investments to become operational this year. Meanwhile, construction is expected to begin in the first half of the year for the manufacturing facilities of China-based Kaishan Group, the world’s largest compressor manufacturer.

RIBBONS READY FOR FOUR INVESTMENTS

Commenting on the current status of the investments, Chairman of the Board of İzmir Free Zone Founder and Operator Inc. (İZBAŞ), Eyüp Sevimli, announced that four investments—German-owned Böllhoff (manufacturer of fasteners and industrial processing systems), Roll Nova İzmir Iron & Steel, Alpar Metal (a supplier to global automotive giants), and Gico Product Service Solutions—are all set to be commissioned within this year.

KAISHAN TO BREAK GROUND

Sevimli stated that the Kaishan Group’s new factory, to be built on a 22,000-square-meter area, is scheduled to break ground in the first half of this year.

Highlighting that İZBAŞ offers top-tier infrastructure and services to existing investors with its 41 years of manufacturing and 28 years of free zone experience, Sevimli also noted that they are selective in attracting new investments to the zone, which is located just 30 minutes from the city center.

153,000 SQM EXPANSION AREA

“As we have limited space left for new investments, we place great importance on ensuring that all incoming projects are fully export-oriented, focused on high value-added products and services, and provide qualified employment. We strongly believe that adopting a growth model based on value-added production and exports is crucial for solving the economic challenges our country is facing,” said Sevimli, also providing updates on the newly acquired 153,000-square-meter expansion area.

INFRASTRUCTURE TO BE INTEGRATED SWIFTLY

Sevimli noted that the necessary bureaucratic processes for incorporating the adjacent land into the Free Zone are ongoing under the Ministry of Trade, adding:

“While the General Directorate of Free Zones continues its bureaucratic work, as the Board of Directors, we are preparing for the infrastructure development of our expansion area. Once the process is completed, our zone, which currently has a 90% occupancy rate, will grow by an additional 10%. We will rapidly begin infrastructure activities in the expansion area and integrate it with our current systems. This integration will enable us to operate with a focus on efficiency and bring a new, well-planned industrial zone to İzmir.
